On July 23rd 2016 I married my best friend. It was the hottest day of the summer and despite the boob sweat I was determined to have the best day of my life, and I did. The forecast for our wedding day had shown rain even months before the date, yet we prayed God would bless our day and we planned to have the ceremony and reception completely outdoors despite the predicted weather. We were incredibly blessed with the help of family friends who came the night before and the morning of our wedding to help set up. After spending hours in the sun getting our pictures taken it was finally time for our ceremony. My father had made me beautiful wooden arches that my future husband stood in front of at the end of the aisle. I was filled with emotion and honor to walk down the aisle with my father. We were so lucky to have an amazing family perform and sing during our ceremony. We had a beautiful Christian ceremony, where we were reminded through all of the chaos what was truly important. God decided to bless our wedding day in a surprisingly satisfying way. As soon as we were announced husband and wife it started to rain. God must have known how hot we all were because as soon as the rain came the air-cooled off. Our reception featured a taco bar, everyone’s summer favorites, and the best of Wisconsin’s beer and wine. The more it rained the more fun we had, dancing bare foot in the rain to our amazing band Chris Kroeze. Our day was blessed by the endless support from our family and friends. There are few days in ones life where you are surrounded by every person you love. It was such an honor and we thank everyone who made our day “seriously, the best day ever”.
